Desktop Publishing

The desktop publishing department ("DTP") is the hub of any on-demand digital print organization. The fastest most technologically advanced printing devices are rendered useless if the print files transmitted to them are not effectively pre-flighted (i.e. methodically inspected).

Our "DTP" department combines the latest and greatest in software applications with the finest hardware solutions available--operating on both MAC and PC platforms. We employ an experienced staff that is at ease with the multitude (and ever changing) graphic and business applications programs that exist today and they have the experience to recognize and correct problems before the job travels too far down the production pipeline.

Of course all phases of print production are important but this pre-flight stage is without question the most critical. Even the most experienced designers and print production specialists will supply problematic files from time to time and file issues occur on a very real and very regular basis.

Some common problems might include:

• files have been poorly created... bleeds have not been created; crops are missing;
• fonts are missing and have not been included;
• linked files are missing;
• low-resolution graphics (used during development stage) have not been replaced with the required hi-resolution versions for print purposes;
• native files have not been saved correctly or completely;
